Our obstetrics department consists of five dedicated labor, delivery and recovery rooms. We have a dedicated labor triage room with two beds. And we boast a newly installed state-of-the art central fetal monitoring system.
It's A Family Experience
The Women's Unit consists of nine postpartum/ante partum or gynecology rooms. Our family-stay suite, which includes a queen-size bed and children’s play area, is a postpartum room designed for families to bond with the new baby.
Breastfeeding Support
The Women’s Unit has an international board-certified lactation consultant who's also trained as a labor nurse, assisting with discharge teaching and offering childbirth and breastfeeding classes.
She's available to help discharged mothers and mothers from the community who didn't deliver at our hospital but who have breastfeeding needs. She also takes referrals from pediatricians for nursing moms.
Meet Our Physicians
West Valley has four board-certified OB/GYN physicians. We also care for family practice patients with the OB physicians as expert backup for high-risk patients or if a Cesarean section becomes necessary.
Our Nursing Team
Many of our nurses have a longstanding tradition at our hospital and offer reassuring, experienced care. Many of our nurses were born and raised in the area, so we treat our patients as part of our family.
The birth of your child is a uniquely personal experience that can bring you great joy, but also cause some worry. We are dedicated to providing you with peace of mind as well as delivering you a healthy baby.
In addition to being highly experienced, all RNs in our obstetrics unit are ACLS and NRP trained, and have undergone additional OB/GYN training. If you require a Cesarean section, it will be performed in a dedicated OR suite, and the same specially trained nurses are present during your recovery.
